On the length-adjustable rod for operating and/or monitoring a diverter, a compensating element (A) is provided at a point along the rod. In this compensating element, the ends of the rod sections (S1, S2) can be fixed by spacers of a set of spacers (D1 to D10) according to the desired length and the desired play in the length of the rod.
