PURPOSE:To improve the machining performance of an electric discharge machine, by setting the on-off time of a power source for EDM in a way of counting a clockpulse, and likewise making the setting time so as to cut off the power source immediately after detecting the worsening of machining condition. CONSTITUTION:A clock pulse generated by an oscillating circuit 1 is counted each by an off-time setting circuit 2 and an on-time setting circuit 9, through which on and off times for an electric discharge machining pulse voltage are set up. Each of time setting circuis is made up so as to start the counting of the off-time by finishing the on-time as well as to start the counting of the on- time by finishing the off-time. A state of machining in an EDM gap is discriminated by a discrimination circuit 26 and in the case where the state of machining turns worse, the power source is cut off at once, stopping the machine going to operate. |
