HOT ROLLING METHOD OF HOT STRIP HAVING NO WORK ROLL BANDING DAMAGE

PURPOSE:To perform hot rolling without roll banding damage by using a trapezoidal work roll for the front stand of a finishing mill group. CONSTITUTION:A trapezoidal work roll is used for the rear stand of a finishing mill group and a similar trapezoidal work roll is used for the front stand as well in the stage of finish rolling in hot rolling of a steel strip. The peak in the line pressure near the edge of the material to be rolled is effectively reduced and the generation of a roll banding damage is advantageously averted by such roll. Hot rolling is thus accomplished without decreasing rolling efficiency.
