The invention solves the object of constructing winter gardens vertically one above the other on the front of multistorey dwelling houses, in particular in the case of existing buildings. Building modules with large side openings are constructed from supports and rails, preferably of steel, and also floor slabs in the form of prefabricated parts, and are stabilised by fixing to the house front. Prefabricated frames (of plastic, wood or metal), which carry a fixed glazing or window wings for opening, are inserted into the large side openings. Additional interior work involves prefabricated elements for floor and ceiling (underneath the loadbearing floor slab) and completing the former house front, which, due to the winter garden, becomes the separating wall between winter garden and dwelling space. <IMAGE>
