For the purpose of resetting, the counter is provided with a resetting device which is a resetting key separate from the counter. It is provided with a slide for displacing the axis of the switch drive of the counter, and with a grip part on which the slide and the fingers are provided with which the number drums can be reset to zero. As a consequence of the separate resetting key, the counter has a simple structural design and can be produced simply and cost- effectively. Furthermore, as a result the counter can be built very small. Since all the fingers for the number drums are provided on the resetting key, all the number drums of the counter can be set to zero simultaneously, so that resetting is possible simply and rapidly.
