The invention relates to the use of environmental energies, suitable for pipeline transport, which can be used in communication systems, in the form of hydrogen for the preparation of carbon/hydrogen compounds for example from atmospheric carbon dioxide without making use of the earth's resources and without altering the atmospheric balance, so that the result of the process corresponds to natural photosynthesis nevertheless permits a hydrocarbon economy.
