A stepping motor for adjusting actuation elements is proposed, having an electronic control device in which the stepping motor is driven as a function of operating parameters with a respectively required number of actuation steps for the adjustment of a desired quantity of injected fuel, a preferred position of the actuation element (7) which is actuated by the stepping motor (17) being detected as a position acknowledgement by a signal generator circuit. At the same time, a limit position of the stepping motor actuator (15), by means of which a switch (20) can be actuated which is located in the signal generator circuit and which triggers a generator signal upon actuation, serves as preferred position. <IMAGE>
