PURPOSE:To sense the residual amount of sheets accurately with a simple mechanism by marking the side plate of an elevating paper feed table of a copying machine etc. at a certain spacing and by reading the marks by a photosensor and counting it. CONSTITUTION:Paper feed table 1 rises until the upper most lying sheet contacts a paper feed roller 9, and the upper limit is sensed by the use of a microswitch, photocensor, etc. The table 1 is stopped when the contact is sensed. At this time, input of the CLOCK pulse is stopped, and the currently emitted output will continue to be generated. When the action of paper feeding commences, motor shall be turned on if reduction of the transcript sheets 4 is informed by microswitch, photosensor, etc., in order to elevate the paper feed table 1. Thus rise and stop is repeated while the photosensor 7 follows the marks, and the CLOCK input is sent to a decimal counter 10, where counting shall go on, and at the same time display of residual amount of sheets is changed. According to this arrangement, sensing of the residual amount of sheets is available with a simple mechanism at a high reliability. |
