The two retention springs (16) for the releasable fixing of the cap (12) on the housing (10) of the ignition distributor are rolled inwards at one end portion to form a sleeve (17) which is fitted pivotably into an annular groove (19) in the wall (20) of the housing (10). One projection (25) is formed to the side and one projection (26) at the broad face of the retention spring (16) in the outer edge (27) of the groove flank (28), in each case by caulking.
<??>As a result, no additional element is required and the fitting of both retention springs (16) into the housing (10) is suitable for fully automatic assembly.
