Process for removing organic solvent residues from an aqueous washing bath

The invention relates to a process for removing organic solvents dissolved in an aqueous washing bath. Thorough removal of such solvents as far as an officially prescribed minimum value has not been possible hitherto even by stripping. In order to solve this problem, the invention provides that solvent-binding substances situated in the bath are initially precipitated out from the bath by addition of a sedimentation agent and that the residual solvent dissolved in the washing bath is then removed therefrom in a manner known per se by stripping. An additional improvement is achieved by filtering the bath after the precipitation and before the stripping.
