PURPOSE:To make it possible that the user replaces easily a unit and all by constituting the device so that plural sets of electrophotographic image forming mechanisms into units respectively and are freely inserted and removed. CONSTITUTION:When a gripper G cuts off a photo-interrupter 60, a yellow plate image, a magenta plate image, a cyan plate image, and a black plate image are formed successively by the first, the second, the third, and the fourth printer mechanisms I -IV respectively. Images are transferred one over another to the surfaces of a form to synthesize a color image in the process where a transfer paper P passes under printer mechanisms I -IV. Respective photosensitive drums 9, electrostatic chargers 10, developing devices 11, and cleaners 13 of printer mechanisms I -IV are collected as units 16Y, 16M, 16C, and 16BK, and each of these units is so constituted that it is inserted to and removed from the machine body freely. |
