PURPOSE:To provide a sliding brake shoe made of nonmagnetic ceramic material excellent in wear-resistance, having a low specific weight and a low heat conductivity, by forming a holding plate with titanium alloys or stainless steels, and as well forming a brake shoe with ceramic material. CONSTITUTION:Silicon nitride Si3N4, as a ceramic material, excellent in wear-resistance at a high temperature, having a heat conductivity of about 0.03cal/ cm.S.deg, and a specific gravity of 3.2, is formed into a plate-like member with a sintering assistant being added, and is pressurized and sintered to manufacture a frictional plate 1. Zirconia ZrO2 also having wear-resistance at a high temperature, a heat conductivity of about 0.004 cal/cm.S.deg. and a specific gravity of 5.5, into which a bit of calcium oxide CaO or magnecium oxide MgO is solidly dissolved to obtain a stabilized zirconia, is formed into a plate-like member, and then, is shapeed and calcined to manufacture a frictional plate 1. A nonmagnetic stainless steel having a high strength at a high temperature, such as, for example, SUS304, or a titanium alloy such as, for example, Ti-6Al-4V, is used for a holding plate 2. The titanium alloy is more preferable than the stainless alloy since it has a lower heat conductivity and a less specific gravity, but is inferior to the stainless steel in view of the cost and supply of the titanium alloy. |
