PURPOSE:To execute reciprocating picture recording to a tape, and to omit a rewinding operation by providing the first video head for executing the recording to the upper half of the tape which is fed in the forward direction at the time of a forward rotation of a cylinder, and the second video head for executing the recording to the lower half of the tape which is fed in the backward direction at the time of a backward rotation of the cylinder, on the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The first main video head 22 and the first auxiliary video head 24 execute recording to the upper half of a tape 26 when the tape 26 is fed in the direction A (forward direction), and in this case, a cylinder 21 rotates forward in the direction B and recording is executed. Also, the second main video head 23 and the second auxiliary video head 25 execute recording to the lower half of the tape 26 when the tape 26 is fed in the direction A' (backward direction), and in this case, the cylinder rotates backward in the direction B' and recording is executed. |
