摘要 PURPOSE:To form a toner having excellent fluidity and a uniform triboelectrification characteristic by dispersing a toner material in a dispersion medium, polymerizing the same to polymer particles and growing the polymer particles by a polymn. method. CONSTITUTION:A toner material contg. a monomer of a synthetic resin and a polymn. initiator is dispersed in a dispersion medium hardly compatible with said monomer and is polymerized, whereby polymer particles are formed. The polymer particles are grown by a polymn. method to form a toner. A toner material of monomer system dispersed therein with the monomer of a synthetic resin monomer, polymn. initiator, coloring material, magnetic material, additive, etc. is dispersed in an aq. phase contg. a suspension stabilizer, and is stirred at the stirring speed and time regulated to form the monomer liquid drops sized at <=30mum to the extent of preventing the settling of the particles. The polymn. temp. is set at 70-90 deg.C. A styrene monomer is used for the monomer of a synthetic resin, carbon black, nigrosine dye, or the like is used for the coloring material, magnetite which is strongly magnetized in the direction of magnetization by the magnetic field is used for the magnetic material, and a free radical initiator and redox catalyst are used for the polymn. initiator. The concn. of the initiator is in a 0.3-0.8wt% range based on the amt. of the monomer.
