PURPOSE:To prepare the titled composition capable of keeping high transparency for a long period, having extremely low tendency of discoloration at high temperature, and giving a transparent cured resin in a short time, by compounding a thiophosphite as a discoloration inhibitor to an epoxy resin containing an acid anhydride hardener. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is prepared by compounding (A) an epoxy resin containing preferably 0.5-1.8 equivalent of an acid anhydride hardener such as phthalic anhydride, based on 1 epoxy equivalent, with (B) preferably 0.05-8wt% of a thiophosphite (e.g. trilauryl trithiophosphite, triisopropyl trithiophosphite, etc.) as a discoloration inhibitor.
