PURPOSE:To prepare the titled antigen by stirring the cells capable of producing the antigen relating to adult T-cell leukemia in the presence of a surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:Cells capable of producing the antigen relating to adult T-cell leukemia (e.g. MT-2 cell) are stirred in the presence of a surface active agent (e.g. sodium deoxycholate, octylphenoxy polyethoxy-ethanol, etc.), the mixture is centrifuged, and the supernatant liquid is dialyzed using physiological saline water buffered with phosphoric acid. The surface active agent contained in the suprenatant liquid can be removed by the dialysis. The dialyzate is centrifuged, and the objective antigen is separated from the obtained supernatant liquid. The concentration of the surface active agent is preferably about 0.2%. The content of the antibody relating to the adult T-cell leukemia can be determined with high sensitivity by the enzymatic immunoassay, radioimmunoassay or passive hemagglutination method using said antigen. |
