PURPOSE:To obtain a product excellent in foaming efficiency at low cost, by a method wherein a foamable resin is extruded from a die into a vacuum region so as to foam into a desired shape and is cut into a desired length and is then loaded into a vacuum releasing chamber adjacent to the vacuum region, and after the pressure in the vacuum releasing chamber is restored to the atmospheric pressure, the product is taken out therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A foamable thermoplastic resin is extruded onto a conveyor 6 from a sizing die 3 while passing between take-off means 4 in a vacuum chamber 11 so as to foam into a desired chape and is then cut in a desired length by means of a cutter 8. The foamed article is then loaded into a vacuum releasing chamber 19 by means of a conveyor 10. At this time, the pressure in the vacuum releasing chamber 19 is kept equal to that in the vacuum chamber 11. Then, after the pressure in the vacuum releasing chamber 19 has been restored to the atmospheric pressure, the foamed product is taken out from the chamber 19 through a delivery opening 25. |
