PURPOSE:To enable noncontact detection of a torque accurately by winding a thin band of an iron-based amorphous magnetic alloy with the crystalization temperature exceeding a specified value on a fixed shaft to electrically detect changes in the magnetic characteristic. CONSTITUTION:A thin band with the thickness of about less than 20mum of an iron amorphous magnetic alloy with the crystalization temperature of more than 45 deg.C as represented by the formula (wherein, M is one or more of Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta and W, (a) less than 0.2 when M is Ni or Co and less than 0.1 in other cases, x=0-20, y=5-30 and x+y+z=100) is wound on a rotating shaft 1 in a ring to made a circular magnetic core 2. Said alloy is so large in the magnetostriction constant that a heat treatment won't make it embrittle when applied to remove internal stress after the formation of the thin circular thin body. Thus, there is no cracking or the like when the shaft twisted 3 and fixed with an adhesive and then, undone after the insertion of the thin body into the rotating shaft, which enable noncontact detection of a large torque accurately. |
