The present invention concerns a method and an arrangement for making slots in concrete and similar material by cutting, especially cutting of slots along cracks in concrete, wherein a milling tool, so-called slot cutter, is first fed in axial direction down into the concrete and then fed primarily at right angle to the lengthwise axis of the slot cutter while the slot cutter is caused to rotate about its lengthwise axis and subjected to impact directed in the lengthwise axis and against its shaft and wherein the slot is given a desired profile by giving the tip of the slot cutter a special shape. The slot cutter consists of a drill shaft 1, whose upper end is configured to attach a tool, such as an impact boring machine, and whose lower end is provided with a tip 2, wherein the tip 2 is provided with cuts 3, 4 which essentially cover the entire profile of the tip 2 and wherein the drilling shaft 1 and the tip 2 are made of steel and the cuts 3, 4 of hard metal. <IMAGE> |
