<p>PURPOSE:To develop an inorganic adsorbent stable even at high temps., by impregnating porous metallic Ti with a Ti alkoxide solution adhering the impregnated soln. to fine pores, hydrolyzing said metal to hydrate Ti oxide and thereafter dehydrating said oxide to TiO2 at a high temp. by sintering in the fine pores. CONSTITUTION:Defatted and washed powdery and granular sponge Ti 24 is put in a beaker 26, placed further in a vacuum vessel, and evacuated by a vacuum pump 30. A cock 36 of a container 34 holding Ti tetraisopropoxide is opened, and liquid Ti tetraisopropoxide 32 is added till the sponge Ti is completely submerged to impregnate into fine pores of sponge Ti 24. The sponge Ti is put in a wire-net container and heated in ammoniac vapor at 70-80 deg.C. Ti tetraisopropoxide is hydrolyzed to Ti(OH)2, and this product is heated in a heating oven at 500-700 deg.C to produce TiO2. The TiO2 is sintered on fine pores surfaces of the sponge Ti, and an inorganic absorbent having excellent adsorptivity to water at high temps. is obtd.</p> |
