PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor having high sensitivity by incorporating a crystalline trisazo compd. in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer contg. the crystalline trisazo compd. (e.g.; the compd., etc. of the formula III, formula IV) expressed by the formula I [Ar1 and Ar2 are (substd.) phenylene, (substd.) naphthylene, these substituents are halogen, (substd.) alkyl, (substd.) alkoxy; Ar is the formula II, Ar3 is a (substd.) arom. carbon ring, (substd.) aromatic heterocycle; Z is an atom group necessary for constituting a (substd.) aromatic carbon ring or (substd.) arom. heterocycle] is provided on a conductive substrate. If the trisazo compd. of the formula I is low in degree of crystallinity, the sensitivity is low, thus giving a cause for the generation of a photographic fog if such layer is used as an electrophotographic receptor particularly when the electric field is low. The photoreceptor having high sensitivity is obtd. When the degree of crystallinity is high. The sensitivity is high particularly when the electric field is low. |
