PURPOSE:To cool inner and outer walls of an air-core coil efficiently using one blower, by a method wherein a blower and a hollow member having vent holes therearound are installed to the end surface of the air-core coil, and cooling air is blown to inner and outer walls of the air-core coil. CONSTITUTION:An air-core coil 8 formed in cylinder by winding copper wire is installed within a case 1 and grasped between support plates 7 using thread rods. The support plate 7 has a hole 9 at position corresponding to hollow portion of the air-core coil 7. A hollow member 11 having a plurality of vent holes 10 therearound is installed to the hole 9 using screws 4. Cooling air introduced by a blower 12 is separated into air (arrow ''a'' direction) to cool an outer wall of the air-core coil 8 and air (arrow ''b'' direction) to cool an inner wall of the air-core coil 8 by means of the vent holes 10 provided on the hollow member 11. |
