<p>PURPOSE:To provide a control device capable of correcting the position of a rolling material quickly and accurately, by obtaining the positional difference between the rolling material and the rolling center of work rolls basing on the detected results of both width-end positions of the material at the inlet side of a rolling mill and the detected results of the shifted extents of work rolls. CONSTITUTION:Work rolls 1, 1' are shifted by roll shifting devices 5, 5' in conformity with the sheet width of a rolling material 2. The shifted extent is detected and inputted to a computing element 7, and the actual width-end position of the material 2 is detected by a sheet-end detector 6 and inputted to the device 7. The positional difference between the actual position of the material 2 and the proper position to a rolling mill is obtained by the element 7 basing on both signals. A controller 8 inputs the signal corresponding to the positional difference to adders 9, 9' to regulate left and right rolling-reduction devices 4, 4'. The amount of gaps at both width-ends of material 2 are respectively changed by said regulation, and the material 2 is corrected to the proper position by shifting it to the large gap side.</p> |
