PURPOSE:To obtain a reusable air electrode that provides excellent polarization characteristics by containing a metal chelate of polymer dioxime. CONSTITUTION:The required quantity of metal chelate of polymer dioxime is added, for example, when a carbon body is molded or the carbon body is immersed into a solution of polymer dioxime. Then the carbon body is treated by the aqueous solution or an alcoholic solution of pertinent metal salt and is contained in an air electrode. The amount of use of polymer dioxime into the carbon body is preferably 0.5-5.0wt% for the carbon body. Polymer dioxime has both coupling capacity with oxygen and the capacity of attaching and deattaching oxygen by the operation such as pressure reduction. The air electrode that contains the metal chelate of polymer dioxime can be reused. |
