PURPOSE:To execute quickly a key input by displaying on a display device only a data of a data code contained in a field of a prescribed digit number in a field copy register. CONSTITUTION:An operator inputs each character for constituting a retrieval code, for instance, ''ABCDE123FG'' by depressing a corresponding key of a keyboard. In this case, a processor copies and contains each character code in a field copy register FCR4, and also displays a character based on each character code on a display device 3. Subsequently, the operator contains successively a digit number of a field in the FCR4, in each fixed character processing register FMR, and displays 3 only a data of a data code contained in a field of a prescribed digit number in the FCR4. In this way, the number of times of hitting a key can be reduced. |
