PURPOSE:To perform quick and accurate address retrieval by repeating alternately an operation by which a tracking control system is turned on and at the same time a track jump is generated and another operation by which the tracking control system is turned on and at the same time the address data is read out. CONSTITUTION:When an optical beam is successively displaced by kicking actions, a motor control circuit 24 moves the main body of a pickup so as to minimize the displacement. The pickup 13 moves quickly toward the radius direction of a disk, and a system controller 32 discontinues the supply of pulse signals to a muting circuit 31 and a kick control circuit 33 when the coincidence is obtained between the address data reproduced by an address data reproducing circuit 21 and the address set at the controller 32. Then the controller 32 sets the reproducer under a reproduction mode and retrieves a desired address. In other words, an unstable movement is avoided for a light beam with an intermittent kicking action, and furthermore the desired and satisfactory address data can be obtained. |
