PURPOSE:To make coincide the level of software and firmware with each other and to dissolve the interchangeability among various programs with the firmware, by installing the firmware for processing dedicated to instruction and a controlling storage initially setting section which operates the firmware. CONSTITUTION:An operating system 1 calls a controlling storage initially setting section 2 at the time of, for example, rising of the system. The controlling storage initially setting section 2 issues a dedicated instruction 3, whose initially setting information table 4 is designated in an operand field. After the instruction code S of the dedicated instruction 3 is decoded, the control is handed over to firmware 5 for processing dedicated instruction. The firmware 5 writes a selected microinstruction group in a prescribed area of a controlling storage 8 for specific processing after obtaining the address of the initially setting information table 4 by fetching the operand field of the dedicated instruction 3 and by accessing the initially setting information table 4. Therefore, execution of a specific processing at the firmware becomes possible. |
