A web of rubberized parallel steel cord fabric is severed at an angle to the cords by two disc cutters 7 mounted on a slide 11 which is displaceable at an angle relative to the direction of feed 3 of the web. The cutters are mounted on shafts located in. bearings 14 and driven by a motor 22. A conveyer 5 for supporting the portion of the web to be cut off and for removing it after cutting includes magnets 6. The slide is driven by a rack and pinion, the latter being driven by the motor 22. The cutting direction of slide movement is indicated by arrow 8 and the slide is returned in the direction 13 whilst the conveyer 5 removes the cut off portion 9. |
