The coupling device is inserted from the outside into the bottom corner fittings only of adjacent containers, and consists of two links pivoting together about a horizontal pin so as to leave the space between containers free. Each device has bosses engaging in the corner fittings, with a locking device. In the extended position the device leaves a clearance of approximately 7.5 cm between the containers. The bosses can be rotatable, the locking devices being supported in them and equipped with operating handles. Locking pins can be provided to engage with them. The coupling device enables two containers to be coupled together in tandem, and to be loaded onto a lorry as a single unit. |
