1298122 Substituted ureas BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 24 April 1970 [26 April 1969] 19808/70 Heading C2C The invention comprises substituted ureas of the formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> is H, CH 3 or the group CONHR<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>5</SP> being (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl group, R<SP>2</SP> is H or CH 3 , R<SP>3</SP> is H or a (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl group, and R<SP>4</SP> is an aliphatic radical which may be substituted by halogen, alkoxy, CN or alkylmercapto. They may be obtained by reduction of a substituted nitrobenzene with Zn dust, reaction of the reduction product with CH 3 NCO and alkylation of the hydroxyurea formed with an alkylating agent. Examples are given for the preparation of the compounds. The compounds are useful as herbicides, and are compatible with rice, Indian corn, and wheat. Other conventional additives including emulsifying agents, dispersing agents, insecticides, fungicides, bactericides, growth regulants and other herbicides may be incorporated in the herbicidal compositions. |
