The invention relates to a process for connecting the metallic inner and outer parts of a composite section by an insulating web of plastic which engages with its ends in grooves of the metallic inner and outer parts and is pressed in there. To increase the longitudinal shear strength of the connection between these elements, it is proposed to coat the surface of the insulating web with a strongly adhering metal coating before its insertion into the metallic inner and outer parts, at least in the region of its ends engaging in the grooves.
