FLAME-RETERDANT COMPOSITION AND FLAME-RETERDANT FIBER STRUCTURE

PURPOSE:To provide a compsn. suitable for use in the production of interior materials and having excellent flame retardance and flexibility, by blending a vinyl phosphorate compd. and/or a dialkylphosphonocarboxylic acid compd. with an elastic polymer. CONSTITUTION:A vinyl phosphonate compd. derived from a starting material of formula I (wherein R2 is a 2 or 3C alkyl) and/or a dialkylphosphonocarboxylic acid amide compd. derived from a starting material of formula II (wherein R1 is a 1-8C alkyl; R2 is 2 or 3C alkyl) are/is blended with an elastic polymer such as polyurethane resin, natural rubber or chloroprene rubber to obtain the desired flame-retardant compsn. Examples of the compds. of formulas I and II are compds. of formulas I (wherein x is 2-50) and IV (wherein R'' is a 1-3C alkyl). The back of a fiber structure composed of polyester or polyamide fiber is coated with the flame-retardant compsn. to obtain a flame-retardant fiber structure.
