In an oven or the like which can be built in and whose appliance door (2) and attachment door (4) can be opened separately, the handle (5) of the appliance door (2), projecting from the plane (7) of the appliance door, impedes the matching of the appliance to any desired heights of the drawer panels or door leaves of the attachment door (4). In order to remove this disadvantage, the switch box (9) of the domestic appliance (1) is supplemented by a height-adjustable panel (10) and/or the handle (5) is attached to the appliance door (2), so that it can be offset in height, and constructed so as to project into the region of the plane of the attachment door. <IMAGE>
