METHOD FOR FINISH GRINDING BEAD AT CERTAIN HEIGHT

PURPOSE:To finish beads of a weld at a certain height by detecting load variation and controlling feed speed for providing a certain grinding load. CONSTITUTION:A guide ring is provided near a weld of a pipe 22 and weld beads 32 are ground by a grinding belt 34 while a grinding unit 26 is fed by a rotary drive unit 27. The rotational frequency of a drive motor 37 is detected by a detector 40 to control the rotational speed of a feed motor 51 so that the rotational frequency of the grinding belt 34 is a certain one. The bead height to be ground is controlled according to the detected value of a detector 46 to be a certain height.
