A durable press resin composition comprising (1) an aminoplast resin, (2) an aldehyde, and (3) a diluent. The durable press resin composition is combined with an acid catalyst and applied to textile materials to impart softness, improved wetting properties and durable press properties. The durable press resin composition is applied at lower than normal dry add-on levels to textile materials to provide textile materials having lower levels of formaldehyde. |
