The invention relates to an aid for livestock birth, consisting of a bar which can be supported against the body of the mother, with an attachment support or the like, a displaceable part arranged on the bar, and holding devices arranged on this part and permitting a stretching of the leg loops for the young animal in the direction of traction. The aim of the invention is to provide an aid for livestock birth, of the type mentioned at the outset, in which a continuous movement of the young animal during delivery is ensured, so that, in general, different forces are not exerted on the young animal and the mother, and at the same time the aim is to ensure that infection of the young animal and mother when using the device is ruled out. The aim is achieved by virtue of the fact that the part arranged on the bar is hydraulically displaceable thereon.
