The invention relates to a precast revetment for embankments or walls. It consists of parallelepiped-shaped concrete boxes which are arranged chessboard-like one above the other and are secured against mutual displacement at right angles to the wall plane by insertion elements acting in a positive-locking manner between boxes arranged one above the other. According to the invention, the boxes, in their top and/or bottom side and in their end faces, in each case have at least one groove running parallel to the front wall. A locking bar arranged in the window between adjacent boxes serves as the insertion element. The locking bar engages in both the top-side and bottom-side groove of one box and in the end grooves of the adjacent boxes.
