What is proposed is a coin-operated gaming machine with a playing field having a plurality of display fields making win or loss decisions, said machine having an evaluation device for evaluating the symbol combinations represented on the display fields. Furthermore, a risk-playing device for increasing an already achieved win, with the risk of losing it, is provided and can be set by means of a key. The win already achieved and the win which can be achieved by means of the risk device are indicated on a risk display device. The risk display device is assigned memories which are connected to a counting device. In dependence on the result of the risk-playing device, specific values stored in the memories are fed to the counting device, and an additional win is granted in dependence on the count. <IMAGE>
