<p>A method and apparatus for measuring the value of a physical parameter is based on the detection of a change in the electrical properties of measurement transducer. For example, the transducer may be associated with the feeler arms of a well logging tool. The method comprises transmitting a signal to the transducer and receiving a return signal, the height or other property of which determines the value to be measured. The method may employ a reference transducer to which identical pulses are sent to counteract system errors and an auto-zero step is also provided.</p> |
