PURPOSE:To attain discs of the same thickness efficiently, by supporting many substrates for magnetic discs on a rotatable shaft and immersing substrates in an painting tank, which is provided with a circulating filter and is charged with a magnetic paint, in a prescribed depth to apply a magnetic paint uniformly to them. CONSTITUTION:A paint 1 where a magnetic powder and a resin are dispersed and dissolved in a solvent is put in a tank 2, and the paint is filtered by a filter 3, and the filtered paint is circulated by a pump 4. Substrates 5 for magnetic discs are held between spacers 8 on a shaft 7, and the whole of a supporting device A is allowed to fall to such position of the tank 2 by descending of an elevator (which is not shown in Fig.) that spacers 8 are not immersed in the paint 1, and lower halves of substrates 5 are immersed in the paint 1, and the shaft is rotated by a motor 6 to rotate substrates 5 in a speed of 5-30 rotations/minute, and the paint is applied to them uniformly. Next, the device A is pulled up from the tank 2, and the rotation number is increased to the excess paint, and the magnetic powder is orientated with a permanent magnet 9 by an electromagnet, thus terminating painting. Then, the magnetic paint is applied to many substrates simultaneously with the same thickness uniformly. |
