TRANSACTION CONTROL SYSTEM.

A transaction control system whereby a holder of a card (3) may purchase and have recorded against his account the purchase of commodities such as petrol. The system is such that on presentation of the user card (3) which is verified against a card (5) presented by the issuer of the credit card, that the verification gives an accept signal to a dispensing mechanism (6) to allow the user to dispense the commodity. Means are also provided when the dispensing is completed that there is an automatic tallying and print-out of the transaction with the users account being debited the amount dispensed.
