PURPOSE:To eliminate error in binary-coding and to reproduce an intermediate tone picture, by arranging oppositely light emitting elements and photodetectors in a row being the same number so that each main light axis crosses on an original plane and applying sequentially power to the light emitting elements. CONSTITUTION:A reading head 1 consists of a light emitting element array 2 where plural light emitting elements are arranged in a row and a photo detector array 3 arranging the same number of photodetectors in a row. The paired light emitting element and photodetector are positioned relatively so that the main light axes are crossed on the plane of the original 4. The light emitting elements of the array 2 are lighted sequentially to scan the original and contrast information of the original 4 is received at the photodetectors of the array 3. The contrast information is converted into an electric signal, the converted electric signal is inputted to a recording means and the picture of the original 4 is recorded. Thus, since individual picture information is inputted to the photodetectors and it is inputted to the recording means without processing, no error takes place in case of binary-coding and the reproduction of intermediate tone is attained. |
