PURPOSE:To remove the sudden change of pressure at the time of starting and stopping by dividing an entrance flow line to runners into two by a partition plate, and starting the opening and closing operation of one guide vane as soon as that of the other guide vane is finished. CONSTITUTION:A flow line in a suction pipe 2 to runners 7A and 7B is divided into two by a partition plate 10 for forming passages 11 and 12, which are equipped respectively with movable guide vanes 14A and 14B to be independently adjusted in the opening degree. For starting operation, the vane 14B is kept perfectly closed, and only the vane 14A is opened to a fixed opening. Then, the vane 14A is fixed at that opening, and the vane 14B is opened to the equal opening. Meanwhile, for stopping a water turbine, only the vane 14A is perfectly closed, and simultaneously the vane 14B is closed. This construction permits to make stable operations of starting and stopping, and consequently improve the safety greatly. |
