PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a device, by recording a still picture signal on a wide track in recording a video signal and recording a movie video signal on a narrow track so as to use the same reproducer head and to reproduce the movie and the still picture in an excellent way. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disc 1 is rotated at the revolving speed of a prescribed frame or a field period, and recording head 2 is scanned on the disc 1 to record a modulated video signal. In this case, a head 2 is shifted in the radial direction of the disc 1 to form tracks 3a, 3b possible for recording one frame or one field video signal per one revolution of the disc 1. This head 2 is carried radially with a pitch the same as a scanning width or larger than the scanning width to form the wide track on which the still picture signal is recorded. Further, the head 2 is carried radially to the disc 1 with pitch smaller than the scanning width to form the narrow track on which the movie picture signal is recorded. |
