PURPOSE:To prevent the condensation of moisture in the charge layers around the upper stage of a blast furnace and to stabilize the operation of said furnace by providing cast fittings in which circulation pipes for a heat medium are run in the furnace port, and circulating the heat medium according to the temp. and humidity in the periphery in the upper stage of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:The temp. and humidity in the periphery in the upper stage of a blast furnace 6 are measured with short-sized sondes 1 at all times. When the possibility for condensation of moisture owing to a decrease in the temp. at the furnace top is judged, a flow rate adjusting valve 2 is opened to circulate the heat medium of a high temp. fluid in the circulation pipes 7 embedded in the cast fittings 3 installed in the furnace port, thereby heating the periphery in the upper stage of the furnace. When the heating capacity is not enough, the capacity of a heat exchanger 4 is increased and the quantity of heat possessed by the heat medium is increased. The trouble occurring in the condensation of moisture in the low temp. zone in the upper stage around the furnace is eliminated by the above-mentioned method and the stable operation at a low fuel ratio is accomplished. |
