PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a writing utensil by detecting a character input by a pair of detectors arranged concentrically around a core. CONSTITUTION:A core 2 for ball-point pen is supported by a supporting member 3 in the body 1 of a writing utensil to allow free rocking. An electronic circuit is provided in the body 1, and the small diameter part 2a of the core 2 is led out to the outside of the body through a hole 4 by the operation of a knock button 5, and at the same time, a power source is turned on. Pressure sensitive rubbers 8a, 8b that change resistance according to pressure are provided in sliding contact with the small diameter part, and minute gaps 9a, 9b are provided between them. In the right oblique downward direction, the pressure only exerted on the rubber 8a is by writing action is designated as 1, in the left oblique upward direction, the pressure only applied to the rubber 8b is designated as 2. In upper right and lower left directions, the pressure applied to rubbers 8a, 8b are designated as 3, and the state that gives no pressure to both rubbers is designated as 0. Characters written by writing action are recognized by the electronic circuit, and displayed on a display section 3. |
