The present invention relates to a device for preventing unauthorized use of a trailer by blocking the coupling device by means of which the trailer is coupled to a towing vehicle. The coupling device comprises an elongate housing 1 which at its front has a downwards-open compartment 2 for the tow ball 3 of the towing vehicle, and which along the edge of said opening has an outward flange 8. The invention is characterized in that the device comprises two preferably similar parts 9; 10, each with two opposite, approximately inter-parallel sides 9a, 9b; 10a, 10b, which at one or both of the parts are equipped with grooves arranged such that the parts 9; 10 may be slid into each other. One of the parts 9 has an extension 11 extending from the plane of the part and adapted to at least partially extending into the compartment intended for the tow ball in the coupling device, whereby the periphery of the extension abuts on the walls of the compartment. The other part 10 has a cutout corresponding to the front part of said housing 1, and with an edge 12 which is shaped to bear against the upper side of said flange 8 during the blocking.
