<p>The bicycle has a frame (1) with pedals (17), a seat support (10) and a handlebar support (9), this being mounted for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis. A mechanism (18, 19, 22) is selectively connectible to the support (9) to impart a rocking or vibratory motion. The mechanism includes a polygonal plate (18) which is releasably engageable with a bearing (22) mounted on an extension (19) of the support. The polygonal plate (18) is rotatable via the pedals (17). For vibration of rocking to take place, the bearing must contact the periphery of plate but a pin is provided between slots in two side plates (15) to prevent this. The pin is urged towards the lower ends of the slots by a spring (25) but can be pulled up by means of a cable (27) operated from the handlebar. Instead of direct connection to the pin, the cable may be connected thereto via a lever.</p> |
