PURPOSE:To obtain a filler adaptable to the sepn. of sugar or sugar alcohol, by using the particles of a porous styrene-divinyl benzene copolymer expressed by a specific formula as a -SO3 group and the paired ion thereof. CONSTITUTION:A column filler is obtd, by having the ion expressed by <+>NHnXm as an SO<->3 group and the paired ion thereof at 3-5 milliequivalent for each 1g of the filler. In the formula, X is -CH2OH, -(CH2CH2O)p, -H or CR'q(CH2OH)r group, R' is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group, q and r are respectively 0 or 1-3 integer, and q+r=3, p is 1-10 integer, n is 0 or 1-3 integer, m is 1-4 integer and m+n=4. If the above-mentioned filler is used, sugar such as raffinose, sucrose, arabinose, glucose, dextran or the like and sugar alcohol such as cortisol, mannitol, sorbitol, inositol or the like are separated by each molecular size without causing adsorption phenomenon. |
