DOUBLE BEAM SPECTROPHOTOMETER

PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate time-absorbancy pattern, by passing sample light and reference light alternately by an optical path switching device like a chopper substantially without any break. CONSTITUTION:White light from a light source is made into monochromatic light by a diffraction grating 14 and the light is made incident to a sample part 15. A measurement-side sample chamber 1 and a standard-side sample chamber 2 are provided closely to the sample part 15. The sample light and reference light passed through the sample chambers 1 and 2 pass the chopper 16 as the optical path switching device to enter a photoelectric multiplier tube 7A, where they are converted into electric signals. The ratio of the DC and AC components of the electronic signals is found and outputted as absorbancy.
